Our Tampines Hub

To tackle the challenge of diners not returning trays in hawker centers, we created a series of three murals and a Kopitiam card to embody the spirit of graciousness.

From our research, being gracious in hawker centers is not top-of-mind for many diners. Many are in a rush to finish their meal and leave, and they need to be actively reminded to return their trays and be gracious.

Through our partnership with National Environmental Agency and Our Tampines Hub, we developed murals that contained elements of graciousness – linking hands, nature, and swan. These contained reminders such as 'Keep the table clean', 'Queue up', 'Share the table', 'Don't chope seats' and 'Return the tray'.

This project premiered during the opening of Our Tampines Hub (OTH) on 27 November 2016.
